Will I Still Need Reading Glasses?

These drops improve near vision, but many patients may still need reading glasses in:

  • Low light conditions

  • When reading very small print

How Soon Does It Start Working and How Long Does It Last?

  • Begins working in as little as 30 minutes

  • Lasts up to 10 hours Can I Use the eyedrop

If I Wear Contact Lenses?

Yes. Many patients continue wearing their distance contact lenses and use these drops to improve near vision. Be sure to:

  • Remove contacts before using the eye drop

  • Wait 10 minutes before reinserting lenses

Can I Use presbyopia eye drop After Cataract Surgery?

Yes, but near vision benefits may be limited, particularly in patients over age 60. Most post-cataract patients will still need reading glasses, even when using these drops.

Can I Use presbyopia eye drop After LASIK?

Yes. Patients who have had LASIK may benefit depending on their age and the severity of their presbyopia.

Who Should Be Cautious About Using presbyopia drop?

Presbyopia eye drop may not be suitable for patients with:

  • A history of retinal disease

  • A history of iritis (eye inflammation)

  • Jobs or hobbies that involve significant night driving


However, a full eye examination including dilation will determine if you’re a good candidate. We’ll:

  • Review your prescription

  • Check pupil size and eye health

  • Assess retina and ocular surface

  • Discuss your vision goals, work needs, and lifestyle
